IFN Law Awards

Launched in 2008, the global IFN Law Awards are the most prestigious Islamic finance legal accolades recognized for their impartiality, independence and inclusivity. Rewarding the best legal firms with Islamic finance capabilities and services, the IFN Law Awards take into consideration various metrics beyond the sheer size of a firm but more significantly, a firm’s inventive and progressive spirit in terms of expansion, innovation, impact and development.

Differentiated by over a decade of trusted relationships across the industry and deep expertise covering the global Islamic finance landscape, IFN is the world’s leading multichannel Islamic finance media outlet.

The IFN Law Awards are open to all legal firms with Shariah finance capabilities – international and domestic, full service and boutique. The 2023 edition covers Islamic finance deals from the 1st July 2022 to the 30th June 2023. Submissions will be accepted between the 17th July and the 25th August 2023 with the judging process – executed by an independent review panel – taking place subsequently. Winners and one runner-up per category will be announced in Islamic Finance news early in October. The full report will be published in the IFN Special Awards issue together with the results of the Deals of the Year, Service Providers Poll and Best Banks Poll.

IFN Service Providers Poll

Established in 2006, this Poll recognizes the best supporting providers to the Islamic financial services industry as voted by the readers of Islamic Finance news. Islamic financial institutions, investors, corporates and government bodies from around the world are invited to participate by casting their votes. Voting takes place on 11th September to 9th October 2023 with the results announced during the last week of October.

Non-banking Financial Institutions

The IFN NBFI Poll honors non-bank financial institutions in the Islamic finance space as voted by readers of Islamic Finance news and the industry. All stakeholders of the global Islamic finance sector are invited to cast their votes in October with the results being announced in November.

IFN Deals of the Year

The IFN Deals of the Year were established in 2006 and recognize those who have participated in the industry’s most groundbreaking transactions each year. Financial institutions and intermediaries are invited to submit their chosen transactions from the previous 12 months, which fall under one of the carefully selected sectors. A panel of experts from non-competing organizations then sieve through all submissions during the elimination process until just one transaction in each category remains and is thus awarded the winner of that category. Submissions are accepted during the month of December with the results announced during the first week of January.

IFN Best Banks Poll

The annual IFN Best Banks Poll recognizes the best providers of Islamic financial services across a series of markets and sectors as voted by the readers of Islamic Finance news. Islamic finance issuers, investors, non-banking financial intermediaries and government bodies are invited to participate by casting their votes. There are two categories: Global and Domestic.

Global Categories

IFN readers are invited to nominate their chosen Best Islamic Bank in the following Global Categories: Overall, Retail, Private, New, Innovative, Trustee / Custodian, Treasury, Investment, and Central Bank.

Domestic Categories

IFN readers are invited to nominate their chosen Best Islamic Bank, in their respective countries, in the following categories: Overall Best Domestic Islamic Bank, Investment Bank, Retail Bank, Most Innovative Bank, and Digital Bank.

Results will be announced on the 10th January 2024.

World Islamic Fintech Awards

The World Islamic Fintech Awards (WIFA) honor exceptional and deserving fintech providers in the Islamic finance space for their outstanding work in driving Shariah compliant financial services through disruptive and collaborative technologies.

Methodology
The WIFA employ a multipronged approach to ensure comprehensiveness, independence and inclusiveness, comprising scoring from respected market practitioners and industry stakeholders from across the world. All categories except WIFA People’s Choice Award are on a submission basis. WIFA People’s Choice Award is based on public voting.

IFN Islamic Investor Awards

Launched in 2011, the IFN Islamic Investor Awards (previously the IFN Asset Management Poll) focuses on the rapidly developing global Shariah compliant funds industry. Asset management firms with Shariah funds are invited to submit in a series of categories, following which a panel of non-competing experts review and choose those which have encountered a stellar year. Submissions are accepted during September with the results being announced in November.
