EGYPT: The Nour Party, a political party representing the country’s Salafi Islamists, is reportedly looking to gradually remove non-Islamic banks and put an end to foreign borrowing.
The party, which practices a strict interpretation of Shariah law and is said to have won at least 24% of the vote in Egypt’s ongoing elections, is aiming to expand Islamic financing to boost the country’s economy.
