NIGERIA: The newly launched Lotus Islamic Index helped spur the value of equities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on the 23rd August, leading gains across the bourse’s sectoral indices.
The index, which tracks the performance of 15 Shariah compliant equities on the stock exchange, gained 0.69% to close at 1,352.49 points, compared to a 0.25% increase to 23,199.03 points in the All Share Index.
