INDONESIA: A rebound in corporate Sukuk sales is failing to plug a shortage in Sukuk supply, capping returns for Islamic bond funds.
Akbar Syarief, a fund manager at MNC Dana Syariah, said that his confidence in finding buyers for Sukuk is not matched by certainty there will be sufficient supply.
“Right now the concern is that when money comes in, there may not be securities to invest in. Corporate Sukuk will always be in high demand,” he said.
