NIGERIA: Samuel Nzekwe, a former president of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, said that the introduction of Islamic banking in the country will create healthy competition in the banking sector.
He commented that Islamic banking will also provide opportunities to manufacturers to access cost-effective financing that would help stimulate the economy.
Nigeria’s first Islamic bank, Jaiz Bank, started operations in January this year.
