IFN, the world’s leading Islamic finance news provider, has partnered with prominent Shariah advisory firm Dar Al Sharia to produce a series of market knowledge content, particularly on global Shariah standards, as part of human capacity development efforts. VINEETA TAN writes.
The new Islamic finance standards summary series is a continuation of a strong partnership between IFN and Dar Al Sharia spanning over a decade. The two firms collaborated on a Fatwa series — a collection of Shariah pronouncements issued in response to specific Islamic finance questions — which started in 2013.
“It gives us immense pleasure in continuing with our association with Islamic Finance news (IFN) through the newly launched knowledge-sharing collaboration. As part of this initiative, Islamic finance practitioners are able to seamlessly access summaries of the various standards issued by the international Islamic standard setting bodies AAOIFI, IFSB and IIFM. We are hopeful to continue with our partnership with IFN in launching other human capacity development initiatives in the near future targeted at empowering the Islamic finance industry. We look forward to our continued collaboration,” commented Mohammed Saifullah Khan, CEO of Dar Al Sharia.
Available on the IFN platform (https://www.islamicfinancenews.com/shariah-standards), the summary series breaks down salient points of each Shariah standard into bite-sized information, providing readers with an initial understanding of the standard. The collection features standards from AAOIFI, IFSB and IIFM, with a view of housing all issued standards by the end of 2022, with additional ones added when released as well as updated.
“We are proud to build upon our existing partnership with Dar Al Sharia to deliver yet another important initiative for the betterment of the Islamic finance industry. Standards are the backbone of the Islamic finance industry and we are honored to be able to contribute toward demystifying current practices and provide further clarity on Islamic finance standards. We look forward to further collaborations with our trusted partner, Dar Al Sharia,” said Andrew Morgan, the publisher and managing director of REDmoney Group.
