Central Bank of Oman’s planned introduction of Shariah-compliant money market instruments is positive for the sector

On 16 July, Central Bank of Oman published its 2022 Financial Stability Report, which announced progress in the introduction of Islamic money market instruments is positive for the Islamic banking sector in Oman. The availability of Shariah-compliant short-term instruments will support the islamic sector growth and diversify Islamic banks’ asset base, a credit positive.
