Over a year after Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) opened applications for the first five digital bank licenses in the country, the central bank has announced the successful applicants, two of which fall under the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013. NESSREEN TAMANO reports. The AEON consortium, comprising AEON Credit, AEON Financial Service Co (AFS) and US-based financial services company MoneyLion (MLI), received on the 29th April the approval from BNM and the Ministry of Finance of an Islamic digital bank license.....
