The Ethics and Islamic Finance Association has been created to establish a network of the main players in the Islamic finance industry in France. It is bound to the executive program of Islamic finance at Paris Dauphine University. With growing interest from different institutions in Islamic finance practices, a conference will be organized to discuss the convergence of the French banking market and the Islamic finance model.
The association will be involved in the launch of Swisslife Group’s new product, Salam, in the conference ‘Financial innovation and ethics in service of the real economy: In the world of Ethical Finance what’s the role of Islamic Finance?’ held on the 7th February 2013.
Paris Dauphine in collaboration with Paris Europlace will meet and discuss the publication of AAOIFI’s regulation in French and its applicability according to the legal regime in France.
Law firm Baker & McKenzie will present its legal and fiscal financial set-up in applying Shariah investment law in French territories.
An educational trip to Bahrain and Dubai will be arranged for Islamic finance students at Paris Dauphine to meet regulators such as AAOIFI, IIFM and the Central Bank of Bahrain as well as prominent financial firms such as Dubai Islamic Bank, Tamweel PJSC, NASDAQ, Noor Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Abu Dhabi National Takaful Company. This will enhance the students’ chances of employment with Islamic financial institutions.
